In the News: VRNW members interviewed by the Salish Current

In mid-February, VRNW co-founders Nancy Simmers and Andrea Fenwick were interviewed for an article that appeared in the Salish Current,  a nonprofit, online local news organization serving Whatcom, San Juan, and Skagit counties. Journalist Kai Uyehara also interviewed Cassa Sutherland, End of Life Washington‘s client services manager, and Lashanna Williams, executive director of Seattle-based A Sacred Passing, both of whom have given generous support to VRNW since its inception. A Sacred Passing also provided fiscal sponsorship and other administrative support to VRNW in the organization’s first official year in operation.

In “Proposed changes to state’s Death with Dignity Act spark debate,” Uyehara explores companion bills HB 1281 and SB 5179, which are intended to expand access to Washington State’s existing Death with Dignity Act.
